What is like working in the emergency services?

When we talk of the emergency services we are of course referring to the police, fire and ambulance services. But if you think that being a career in the fore service is all about being busy with a hose or working for the police means walking the beat or driving around all day in a panda car, you’d be wrong. There are a number of different roles available ranging from ambulance technicians and paramedics, coastguards and emergency planners to forensic scientists and photographers, media relations and scenes of crime officers...the list goes on.
However, the most common career paths are that of a firefighter, paramedic and police officer. And it is these three main job roles that we will concentrate on throughout this series.

One of the overriding reasons why people choose a career in the emergency services is the opportunity to make a real difference to people’s lives. Police officers are attracted by the prospect of ridding the streets of crime and the fear of crime. Firefighters can perform the role of hero by rescuing people from fires, accidents and natural disasters. While a paramedic may find themselves holding a person’s life in their hands – a boring desk job these careers are not.

By definition these roles are emergency professions, so you can’t expect to work regular hours. You need to be flexible and prepared to work longer hours as and when required and get used to working in shifts, so don’t always expect to clock-off when your shift ends if you’re in the middle of an emergency.

My future profession!!

Hi! My name is Andi and I´m a young boy with many hopes and ambitions for the future, but at the same time I think it´s better to start searching and preventing for the reality and what the best options are.

I´m a very energetic person and I like to innovate and create, so if I had to choose a job right now, I would have these factors in account. I also like technology and mechanics a lot, because these are areas with no limits to the imagination and can have a great impact in our world in a positive and useful way. My dream would be to have an administration post where I could make a difference and make possible things happen, because I like to keep myself involved. But a job that also doesn´t occupy too many work hours of my time would be just perfect! Nowadays, it´s very hard to get a job so I´m very worried about my future.

When I get my first job interview, I’ll have to do everything possible to get the impression that I’m a fantastic worker and real professional. So you have to look confident by looking into the interviewer’s eyes and speak with a strong tone of voice. You have to give him the idea of being someone trustable, sociable by sitting right and straight in the chair. You have to show that you know what you are talking about and that you’re the right person for the job! All these factors are crucial to get the attention of the interviewer.

In the end we all have to be conscious that the job is a reflex of what you are both as a person and a professional.

What should we do to live longer!!!

A healthy lifestyle doesn't have to mean treadmills and salads everyday. Many activities that are fun and pleasurable are also good for you. By understanding how these activities can help you live longer and what to do to get the most benefits, you'll be putting some fun into healthy living. Longevity and health can get confusing. Should we walk? Eat more protein? Do yoga? Drink wine? There are thousands of pieces of advice. Luckily, researches has shown that you only need to do 4 common sense things to live 14 years longer than people who don't employ these healthy behaviors. The even better news is that these four things will not only help you live longer, but make you feel more energetic, get better sleep, and be in a better mood.

Don't Smoke
Refraining from lighting up is by far the number one habit to adopt when it comes to longevity. If you avoid or quit smoking
, you'll get 80  of  the benefit of those 14 years. Get started today and quit for good (and avoid that second-hand smoke, too).
Eat 5 Servings of Fruits and Vegetables
Be sure that you are getting five servings of fruits and vegetables
every day. Start by adding two servings a week until you get there. A glass of vegetable juice and an apple for a snack are a good beginning. You could also double your veggie portion at dinner. Fill up on fruits and vegetables and you may even find yourself eating less junk and losing weight.
Drink Alcohol, Just in Moderation
Drinking between 7 and 14 servings of alcohol a week was one of the behaviors studied. This amounts to a glass of wine or one drink a day. Research shows that red wine may carry the most longevity impact. Make a habit of having a glass to unwind or with dinner. Just be certain not to overindulge -- more than 14 drinks a week can negatively impact your longevity.

Exercise
Avoiding being inactive is important for living longer and feeling good right now. Be sure that you make your days as active as possible
. Stand up at work, go for walks during lunch, and be sure to work up a sweat at least 3 times a week.
Be Positive
Having abpositive attitude about aging can add more than seven years to your life, according to researchers. Avoid the cultural push to glorify youth and regret each passing year. Find ways to to pleasure in your increasing age and enjoy greater learning, experience, and control in your life.
Sleep
Sleep is an essential body function. Most Americans do not get enough sleep. Medications, stress, illness and poor sleep habits all can prevent you from getting between 7 and 9 hours a night. The health benefits of sleep include more energy, better immune function, and more.
Relax
Relaxation is the opposite of stress. While stress brings harmful health effects, relaxation helps our bodies to rest, heal and function better. By practicing daily relaxation techniques, you can train yourself to turn off your stress and replace it with calm energy. This will improve your blood pressure, heart rate and ability to cope with life's challenges.

Why Are People of Okinawa the Most Long-Lived on Earth?

The source of the youngness is not located in Shangri-La, the mythical place on Himalaya where people never got old. The heaven of longevity is encountered in the Japanese island of Okinawa, which, besides detaining the record of longevity and centenaries of the world, is the only place on the planet where 80-90 years olds live like persons 30 years younger.

Ancient Chinese legends already called Okinawa "the land of the immortals". Thousands of people saw it: 7 years ago Seikichi Uehara, 96, defeated an ex box champ in his 30's. Or the case of Nabi Kinjo, 105, that killed with a flyswatter a poisonous snake Here you see 100 years old persons that do not even think about retirement.

There are 457 persons on Okinawa aged 100 or over, an average of 35 for each 100,000 inhabitants. It is the highest in the world.

If Japanese people live longer than any other nation, the Okinawa inhabitants reach ages that take by surprise even the other Japaneses: an average of 86 for women and 78 for men.

But the real shocking factor is not that Okinawa people reach these ages, but that they get old in a much better state.
After decades of research, medics and anthropologists reached the conclusion that there are two main factors behind the longevity in this island: alimentation and a healthy lifestyle that experts believe that can be imitated. The aliments eaten by the Okinawans can be found everywhere, even if there may be also something about the soil of the island.

The traditional diet of Okinawa consists in portions made of a bowl of cooked food and a fruit. Okinawans eat daily seven portions of vegetables and fruits, seven of cereals and two of soy products. They take various portions of fish weekly and very sporadically meat and dairy products. Overall, their diet is low in calories and contains a lot of vegetables.

Okinawa, the main island of a tropical chain of 160 coral islets called Ryukyu, has a volcanic soil, whipped by typhoons and torrential rains, and has not ever lived in peace or stayed away from epidemics.

During the Second World War, it was the scene of fierce of a crucial battle. Today, the US military bases occupy 20 % of its surface and the Okinawa Prefecture is the poorest province of Japan.

With all that they have experienced, the elder of Okinawa have surprisingly low depression levels. On the streets of Okinawa you can see persons aged 90-100 on motorcycles or mountain bikes, which practice karate, kendo, dance, walk several kilometers daily, and even work on vegetable gardens and after that sell their vegetables.

But remember, these people do not go to fitness gyms (there are no such things in Okinawa) nor do they practice jogging; they can practice the profound respiration, the tai-chi, and gardening or other activities in the open that affect positively the stress level.

They are rather preoccupied by hobbies, but linked to a social network, that makes them feel connected to the environment and their fellows and develop their spiritual side. Physical activity is not isolated, but it has an objective, making the elders feel active members of the community.

Another factor in Okinawa is that people take care mutually of each other, forming more coherent and supportive links than in the western world. And above all, they have a positive attitude towards life. That explains the extremely low levels of stress experienced by these elders.

Of course, there may be a genetic factor contributing to this vitality.

During the XXth century, 100,000 Okinawans migrated to Brazil, where they adopted the Brazilian diet, rich in meat. The result was that their average lifespan lowered with 17 years. When the Okinawan youth started to go to American Fast-Foods and Pizza Bars, which surround the American bases, the obesity levels, cardiovascular diseases and premature deaths of the young reached records in Japan.

Okinawa did not escape the trading trends: in the center of the island, there is now a big store with a big hanging poster "Okinawa, the world capital of the longevity" which offers the ingredients of the longevity: brown sugar "made of Okinawa cane", kombu, tofu and other products, supposed to prolong your life.

Describing my two favourite sports!!!

Ia am an active person so i really like sports.Iprefer mostly team sports which means that two teams will compate against each other. In my opinion in these kinds of sports you may truly show yourself. Two of my favourite sports are volleyball and football.
Volleyball is a sport which is played with two teams and six people in each one. Each player has it's own position. The main thing is to score points by surving the ball and making passes. It helps you keep in a good shape and learns you how to cooparate with the other players, meaning teamwork. But on the other hand you may be damaged or hardly injured.
Football is another sport which needs two teams with each 11 players. The competition in this game is pretty hard.Even in this sport the players have specific positions on which the game depends on.Just by playing the right way the team must score goals. It is an entertainment and exciting sport which the majority of people love andpractise.Althoug the enjoyable part, football is a dangerous sport.Since the players get angry easily by a missjudgement of the referee they may get into fight. These fights cause trouble, loose of control, injures and etc..
Different people have different preferences but in the end it seems that every sport has it's own benefits and dangerous.
